Dear Friends,Last month I came by Kallada Travels starting from Nagercoil to Hyderbad by boarding the bus at Tveli Vannarpet in front of AppleTree hotel. It left Vannarpet at 4.30 pm and was at Madurai Periyar bus stand at 6.30 pm.On the outskirts of Salem at 9.30pm.They said it will reach Bangalore by 12 midnight. But due to AC problem it was held up after Hosur for nearly 3 hrs and slow driving till Bangalore and reached it around 4 am.At a spot in Andhra the bus was stopped for bfast halt for 45 mts. From that spot Hyderabad was 320kms as per the Highways board and the bus started from that place at 7.30am and reached Hyderabad Kothaguda Junction at 11.30am coming thro'Anantapur and Kurnool. So from Tveli Kallada takes approx 8 hrs time to Bangalore.K.H.Krishnan.

n Train nos 17235 / 17236 Bangalore City-Nagercoil Daily Express, train no 17235 will depart Bangalore City at 5 pm and arrive at Nagercoil at 10.15 am the next day. In the return direction, train no 17236 will depart Nagercoil at 4.40 pm and reach Bangalore at 9.05 am the next day. En route, the Daily Express train will stop at Bangalore Cantonment, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Satur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli and Valliur.

I really donot understand why we get so panic looking at the wrong news published on June 30.
When the official timetable has been already released.

If private omni buses plying from bangalore to nagercoil at an average time of 9 to 10 hr.

Why cannot SR run a train at a travel time of 12 to 13 hr.

I think that SR is indirectly helping to private omni buses.

SWR OR SR is not user friendly for public.

Mani.

From Kalasipalayam to Hosur itself, it will take 3 hrs. during peak or busy hours. From Shanthinagar Bus Stand to Hosur also, it will take 3 hrs. during peak time. How can they reach Nagercoil within 9 hrs. At the moderate speed, salem can be reached from Electronic city in 4 hrs.

So 9/10 hrs. is not possible.

Thanks

Mostly the time is calculated from Madiwala(Silk board) to Madurai or Nagarcoil or to any place. Yesterday departed from MDU at 9.30 PM and reached morning by 4.50 at Silkboard by SRS travels. Also he entered Dindugal and Karur and 10 mins break somewhere after Salem(3 AM).

Hope fully from August last week we can expect the inauguration. Because both IRCTC and railinfo not allow to book ticket for 16537 Nagercoil - Bangalore Weekly express. It seems it will cancel from Sep 1.

Trains at a glance says on introduction of 17235/36, trains 16537/38 will be cancelled. Now they have announced cancellation of 16537/38 from Sep 1st week.
Hence we can expect 17235/36 from Sept 1st.

On seeing the trains nos. 17235/17236 assigned to this service, tend to get a doubt, if this is a Hubli Division train ? Can somebody clarify this please ?

Dear Ramkumar,

173XX is a UBL division train. 172XX indicates this is a BZA division train. This train is going to share rakes with 17210/17209 CCT-SBC Seshadri express. The new timings of 17209 ex. SBC will be changed once SBC-NCJ is introduced. It would henceforth leave SBC at 11.00 hrs instead of 13.20 hrs.

The incoming Seshadri to SBC will leave as SBC-NCJ express and similarly the incoming NCJ-SBC would leave as Seshadri at 11.00 hrs.

Cheers.

Dear Vasanth,

Ever since the budget announcement, many of us were expecting this train to be from SWR, SBC Division. But, on seeing the train nos., I hurriedly concluded that the train might be from UBL Division - if not from SBC Division - but SWR's train still. The information you had provided that this is going to be a SCR train, is a sheer surprise. Anyway, thanks for the information.

Interesting that this service doesn't cover even a single km. falling under the jurisdiction of the zone (SCR) owning the rake for the service. But, we have had many such instances in the past as well as the present.

Just reminds me of the time when MS-RMM via Chord was SCR's train and into an RSA with SCR's KCG-MS. Even now we have CR operating MS-SA and into an RSA with DR-MS. Also, we have SWR operating TPTY-MAS-TPTY services and into an RSA with MYS-CMNR-TPTY-CMNR-MYS. One more is SWR's MV-TPJ into an RSA with MV-MYS which is having a further RSA with TN-MYS.

I dont know why Seshadri Exp depature is delayed more than 2 hours due to introduction of SBC - NCJ Exp..

NCJ - SBC Exp can arrive 07.30 to 08.00 easily at SBC while leaving from NCJ @ 16.35 and it can leave as Seshadri Exp with existing schedule of 13.20..

Are there platforms available at SBC to accommodate NCJ-SBC between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning?

Can SBC support stabling the rakes of Seshadri and NCJ-SBC in its platforms? ie. from 9:05 to 13:20, and 12:30 to 17:00? Seshadri's departure from SBC has been altered to free up a platform.
