Thanks Edward/Haris for sharing the timings.

Disappointing to see 7236's running time (esply NMKL-DPJ) - hoping to see speeding up in a few months.

Importantly, thanks to SCR for providing the rakes in RSA with Seshadri Exp - looks like 7209 will leave 2 hours earlier to free-up one platform at SBC.

Cheers,
Raj

SR/SWR should have planned to use the slot of KCVL-SBC daily last year TT so that it could have reached SBC early morning.

In both directions, the train 17235/36 takes 2 hrs 35 min/40 min to cover between Dharmapuri and Salem (Why for distance of about 70 Km) and being non-hill.
But the more wonder is train 17236 from NCJ covers Karur to Namakkal in about 31 minutes but takes 2 hrs 35 minutes to cover equal distance of Namakkal to Salem.

By going through this one point is clear.

The delayed arrival may be due to platform availability at SBC (of the 6 or 7 via Cantontment) and hence might have been planned in such a way to reach SBC after all morning trains bound to MAS leaves (the last SBC-MAS 16210 Exp) leaves SBC so that they will get them and the same will be released as Seshadri at 13:20 before the Arrival of Brindhavan from MAS.
The existing platform of Seshadri Exp might be used for the incoming Seshadri Express at 11:00 hrs which is leaving NCJ at 17:00 hrs.

I hope this may be the reason and hence to accomodate that they have slowed down the train from Salem onwards.

Can someone gives the platform availablity details at SBC during morning hours like 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM

The time slot which was protested by Keralites.
The one which gave convenient timings to CBE as a perfect overnighter.
Its not poaching.

CBE is not the end of the world....what a statement? "convenient timings to CBE " means SR/IR want to run trains for the CBE only?...then what the convenient for all who beyond CBE? all need to suffer for CBE?.. and finally Its indian railway not CBE railway..

And secondly, the arrival time, considering the rush at SBC is fair enough I suppose, except that they shud have worked on the TT from NCJ-SA/HSRA accordingly. Keeping that aside, the current arrival time is better than 16315/16

With the kind of buffer timings given , they could have routed through Trichy itself.

Correcting the detour route via TPJ was a one of the successful milestone now there is no way to think back, now there is the task ahead to correct the NCJ SBC timings.

Hi Jegan,

My intention was not to route via TPJ. I was only complaining the TT given for the train. My comments is on a lighter vein that given the timings they could have well routed through TPJ.

Loyolites,

That schedule is not recommended for any ONT - whether NCJ or KCVL who want to reach SBC before 9:00.

Thomas, Linu,

loyolitesm is talking about the old (proposed) schedule of 6315/16 reaching/leaving SBC by 12:15/14:30. Let us leave any further discussions about poaching etc. None is talking about KCVL's 08:35/17:15 slot now - good that it is retained for the dailiy.

Avin,

We are talking about the slow timings of 17236 - nothing about how it compares with KCVL daily.

Back to SBC-NCJ exp. All unrelated posts will be moderated.

Cheers,
Raj

Ok, no poaching, etc., etc.

But, is "early morning" the same as 12.15 pm ??

Dear linukj !!

Well, reg. what you wrote
&& CBE is not the end of the world....what a statement? "convenient timings to CBE " means SR/IR want to run trains for the CBE only?...then what the convenient for all who beyond CBE? all need to suffer for CBE?.. and finally Its indian railway not CBE railway..&&

[b]Ha.. Haa...
Well, what a wishful thinking !! Even if 10 % of what you said, that Indian railway helping CBE with so many favours then, it would not have faced such a gross negect over the decades and got decayed !!

Now, that only, few new green leaves have emerged in the twigs, heralding somewhat good days for CBE, your statement of CBE railway is exaggeration to mammoth proportions !! ( as if a huge banyan tree has grown up !! Smile

Reg. 16315 previous timings, it was a mere coincidence that the given timings were suited for an overnight connectivity between CBE and KCVL in one end and between CBE and SBC in the other end. Of course, those timings no longer exist and need not be raked up again.

Well, even now, 16561/62 YPR - KCVL A/c Weekly more or less serves as ONT between CBE and KCVL on thursdays and between CBE to YPR on fridays !! Given the rake constraints and maintenance slots only such timings are available.

Its a spin off benefit for CBE which was got without any efforts !! For that your describing of CBE railway is too far fetched !!

In that case, If it is CBE railway then, why, CBE has to struggle and sweat in blood to get even a single weekly train diverted via CBE jn, even having attained a Fully electrified double line thro' it nearly 3 years back !!

By seeking rerouting of trains, CBE is just seeking is JUSTIFIED status of being part of the main trunk line between MAS - SA - ED - PGT - SRR and get rid of the 'branch line' status !! ( Reg. this aspect, I think we can discuss in CBE rerouting topic. We shall continue with SBC - NCJ trains matter and 16315 slot ( previous and present) here.

bye & cheers,
ravi

Bangalore-Nagercoil has worst timing for MDU. They should have taken care by arrival at MDU by 4 AM atleast. Seems MDU is (purposely) neglected in big way from all the corners.

As Mr. S.R. Vignesh said the arrival time at MDU is not convenient for the passengers and moreover somebody is purposefully trying to make this train as not viable. Embarassed

Friends,

This train is not going to terminate just few kms away from MDU. It has to travel 250 more kms. So, convenient time can't be given at MDU. If MDU gets convenient time, TEN/NCJ won't get (same case of MYS-TN).

Hi Mani,

KCVL takes the FEDL route via KJM,TPT.
Whereas NCJ will run via single line section of Hosur,Dharmapuri hence no surprise here
