TPJ Revenue is RS 91,04,08,000.00 and total no of passenger 78,49,000
whereas KATPADI Revenue is 82,49,67,000 and passenger 63,97,000.
But they have classified TPJ as NSG-3 and KPD as NSG-2 . Is there any particular reason?

IR and SR have considered "either or " condition while grading the stations.Either the number of passengers or the revenue criteria set by IR.This is the main reason, suburban stations near MAS/MS saw a jump in the ranking even though they are not meeting the revenue criteria set for ranking .The number of passengers using those stations are very high because of the EMU /Suburban service from these stations to and from Chennai. This is the reason TBM in NSG 1 ,AJJ,AVD,KPD,CGL,TRL in NSG 2 category. In terms of revenue , they were no where near the grading they received. For eg:TBM Rs.76 Cr where the NSG 1 criteria in terms of revenue is Rs.500 Crore +. Same you can observe in AJJ Rs 28.8 Cr. AVD Rs 8.5 Cr TRL Rs.11.5 Cr CGL Rs.21.6 Cr where as the revenue criteria is Rs.100 Cr+, Since these stations have a lot of passengers , mainly because of the sub urban services ,they made into NSG2 Grading , even without generating much revenue compared to a normal NSG2 or NSG3 stations.

KPD , of course you know the station in SR where most number of trains stops including almost all types of trains Shatabdi,DD,HS etc. in addition to the suburban services.Hence it meets the passenger criteria set by IR for NSG 2 (Even with these many trains , it does not meet the revenue criteria set by IR for NSG2)

Great job Smile .Even with a ready made document, they made a few mistakes while publishing.MBM,PER are in NSG3 , not in NSG2.

Interesting to note than so many "A" grade stations got downgraded to NSG4 including KGQ,CAPE,TRVL,KRR,MV,PAY etc. I would say unlucky station in these group is KGQ where the revenue is Rs.19.11 Cr where the criteria for NSG3 is Rs. 20 Cr.same with TRVL with a revenue of Rs.18.8 Cr.

Some other interesting observations are, stations like AFK in KL saw a jump from "D" grade to NSG4. (I didn't observe this much jump in any other stations outside the boundary of Chennai and its nearby areas).

I'm also interested to know how many people are using TYMR and VLCY stations .(I expect these stations also will have a higher ranking as a lot of people are depending on these stations for sub urban services).

Out of the halt stations , which is not published here,DINR,KRAN (both are nearby stations ) and NJT made into HG1 category under TVC division. Anyother HG1 stations under SR? (I'm not aware of other divisions).

Oh.. I'm sorry.I made a mistake here.I think KPD must be a clerical error.That should be NSG3.
